Comparison

How halal hosting differs from ordinary hosting

The same modern cloud stack — but with content moderation, clean IP addresses, transparent billing and servers in Russia. The difference is in the principles.

The usual way

Ordinary hosting

  • Content isn’t moderated — casinos, adult material and dubious projects may live next door.
  • IP addresses with a past — shared platform reputation, risk of landing on spam lists.
  • Billing with a catch — late-payment penalties and hidden fees.
  • Refund of your balance — with deductions and a drawn-out process.
  • A data center wherever — your data may leave Russia.
  • Support — with no regard for the customer’s ethical norms.
halal.host

The halal cloud

  • Moderation in line with Sharia — no haram on the platform; violations are blocked.
  • Clean IPs on *.halal.host — vetted addresses; you can check an IP’s history when you create a VM.
  • Pricing with no riba — no penalties or hidden interest; everything is spelled out in the contract up front.
  • Balance refunded in full — your unused balance comes back without deductions.
  • Data center in Kazan (IT Park) — data stays in Russia; compliant with 152-FZ.
  • Support that respects Islamic ethics — and a modern cloud stack alongside it.
Criterion 1

Ethical content moderation

Halal hosting doesn’t allow haram content. Here’s exactly what’s off-limits — and how we enforce it.

What’s forbidden (haram)

  • Gambling — casinos, sports betting, lotteries.
  • Adult content — pornography, indecent imagery.
  • Promotion of alcohol, tobacco or pork.
  • Content that insults Islamic values or incites violence.

How it works here

  • Moderation of hosted sites — content on the platform is checked against ethical norms.
  • Clean IP addresses on *.halal.host — addresses are checked against reputation databases and have a clean history.
  • IP check when you create a VM — you can verify that the assigned IP isn’t and wasn’t on any blocklists and wasn’t used for prohibited content.
  • Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) — the contract explicitly forbids hosting haram content.
  • Response to violations — if non-compliant content is found, the site is blocked.
Criterion 2

Financial integrity — no riba

Money is part of halal too. No usury, no hidden interest, no unfair late-payment penalties.

Principles of Islamic finance

  • No usury (riba) — no hidden interest or unfair late-payment penalties.
  • Fair contracts — all payment and refund terms are clearly stated and easy to understand.
  • Transparency — you always see what you’re paying for, with nothing forced on you.

How it works here

  • Transparent billing — clear pricing with hourly, daily and monthly rates. No hidden surcharges.
  • No hidden interest — no interest or penalties for late payment.
  • A clear contract — the terms of use and payment are available online before you even sign up.
  • Refunds — your unused balance can be refunded without deductions.
Criterion 3

Technical reliability and support

Halal hosting is also about quality of execution: the service has to run reliably, and your data has to stay protected.

What halal hosting requires

  • 99.9% uptime — a guarantee that your site stays up.
  • Data security — free SSL certificates, regular backups.
  • Ethical support — service consistent with the norms of Islamic ethics.
  • Quality of execution — care and stability in everything the service touches.

How it works here

  • 99.9% uptime SLA — redundancy, monitoring and automatic recovery.
  • Free SSL certificates — Let’s Encrypt for every domain, right from the control panel.
  • DNS hosting and VPC networks — manage DNS and private networks to isolate your services.
  • Backups — backups of virtual machines and application data.
Criterion 4

Infrastructure and capabilities

Our servers are in Kazan, in Tatarstan — a region with a Muslim heritage; data stays in Russia; and the tooling is on par with modern clouds.

Location and servers

  • Data center in Kazan — servers are hosted at the Bashir Rameev Technopark (IT Park) data center, Republic of Tatarstan.
  • Data in Russia — compliant with Federal Law 152-FZ on personal data.
  • A region with a Muslim heritage — Tatarstan is one of Russia’s leading Islamic regions.
  • Certification — the option to certify through accredited bodies (Roskachestvo-Halal).

Platform capabilities

  • Git-based deployments — automatic build and launch of frontend and backend apps.
  • Serverless functions — Firecracker, an AWS Lambda equivalent; Go, Python, Node.js.
  • VPC — private networks — service isolation for projects with stricter security requirements.
  • One control panel — DNS, SSL, deployments, monitoring and billing in one place.
